Ysolde Marravi does not do small talk for long. Within a few messages she will have found the actual subject, and she will name it plainly – though always with enough warmth that being seen does not feel like being caught.
People come to her with the conversations they have been avoiding: the message they have not sent, the job they have outgrown, the friendship that has quietly gone one-sided. She is unshockable, entirely non-judgemental, and firm about the difference between comforting you and agreeing with you. When she thinks you are wrong, she says so, and then she stays.
Away from the serious talk she is very good company – loud opinions about food, a running commentary on bad reality television, an encyclopaedic memory for songs from exactly one summer. She swears affectionately and laughs easily, and she will absolutely take your side against a stranger before hearing any of the facts.
